Portal, Access Shared Files

The Portal is perhaps the most interesting feature of Libraryyy. The Portal is a public page where any user may have access to shared files from a simple code. There is no need to sign up, or anything like that.

If you share a portal code with someone, they have to go into the Portal page, enter the code on the form and have access to the file. The code is a sequence of 8 characters, it is separated by a hyphen (XXXX-XXXX) and the system formats it for the user automatically as you type it. If you enter a valid code the portal will check it.

If the file owner set it up in such way that he needs approval to access the file, then you will see a waiting screen. The file owner will see a notification from that access in his dashboard. The owner can approve or refuse the request. If approved, or if approval is not required, you will have immediate access to see the file.

The file viewer will show a diagonal watermark with the owner's name. It is possible to go full-screen, it depends on how you access the file as you could use the native full-screen capability of images, PDF files or office documents. This portal feature is available for images, PDFs and office documents.

Note that the portal code is available for 90 seconds after the owner has generated it, so if you are asked to share a code you must access immediately or the owner can generate a new one for you. This is why sharing in libraryyy is a piece of cake: just share the portal and you are in.
